The short version
Playpipe does not collect personal information. There are no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics. The picture, sound, and controls travel only between your iPhone or iPad and your Mac on your own network. We do not run a server that receives them.
What stays on your devices
The iOS app stores, on that iOS device, the Macs you have connected to, your stream settings, a pairing key, and a record of your Mac so a later connection can recognize it.
The Mac app stores, on that Mac, an identity for the server, the certificate used to encrypt the connection from your device, and the phones you have paired.
This information stays on those devices. It is removed when you delete the app and its data.
What crosses your network
To stream a game, the Mac sends its screen and audio to your iOS device, and the device sends controller input back. If motion controls are on, the device reads device motion and sends it to your Mac as part of that input. None of this is sent to us.
Apple
Pairing uses Apple’s App Attest so your Mac can check that it is talking to your iOS device. Apple performs that check through its DeviceCheck service. We do not receive a copy of it. Apple’s privacy policy applies to Apple’s part of the check.
This website
playpipe.app has no accounts, no comments, and no analytics cookies. The site host may keep ordinary server logs, such as an IP address and the page requested, to operate and protect the site.
Sharing
We do not sell or share personal information. We do not collect any to sell or share.
Children
Playpipe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
